New products buzz and stampede into Cuddledry range
Two enterprising mums, who appeared on TV’s Dragon’s Den, have launched a range of unusual new products for toddlers – turning bathtime into a fun filled experience for both mum and tot. The organic, double-layered Cuddlebug and Cuddlemoo towels keep your little ones snug as a bug or cosy as a cow, whilst incorporating play into the sometimes stressful task of getting them out of the bath and ready for bed.
The luxurious yet practical towels, which go on sale from April 08, are big, soft, warm and fun! Helen and Polly at Cuddledry have listened to parents who are frustrated by the small size of most towels for little ones, so the Cuddlebugs and Cuddlemoos are long and thick, with two layers of towelling for extra warmth, and ‘wings’ your toddler can bundle around themselves as they toddle off warm and dry. The built in hood allows them to literally wear the towel, with two layers to dry hair and stay snug.
The fun part for the kids is the funky bug or cow prints – they can wrap their wings around themselves and fly around the house until they’re dry – or charge about, horns and all, until they have to get dressed!
They are made from gorgeous organic cotton and eco friendly bamboo fibre – a silky soft fabric that is 60% more absorbent than pure cotton and has a natural antibacterial quality. The unique two-layered design is the same as the original Cuddledry for babies, keeping your child warm and you dry. Cuddlebug is available as a green beetle print on ecru white or a pink ladybird print on ecru white, while the Cuddlemoo has a cow print in fawn and ecru white. They both cost £27.99 and are available from www.cuddledry.com.
Polly Marsh, co-founder of Cuddledry, comments, “Many of our Cuddledry baby bath towel customers now have toddlers who have grown out of their Cuddledry baby towel and have been clamouring for the next product! We wanted to create something of the same quality but also think about what the children themselves would enjoy.”
The towels have been tested with a panel of experts – aged 12 months to three years! As Helen states, “They love the designs and will happily get out of the bath, as long as they can have fun pretending to be lady birds, crawling around like beetles or mooing like a cow!”
Long term friends, marketing professionals and working mums, Polly Marsh and Helen Wooldridge of Cuddledry Ltd, appeared in the last series of Dragon’s Den looking for £100k investment for their unique Cuddledry baby towel. Having won investment from two of the ferocious dragons they famously walked away with nothing, rather than give up large percentages of the business they had worked so hard to build. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength and neither of them regrets turning down the dragons
Helen said, “Of course it was tempting to take the money but we are glad we stuck to our guns and walked away. Since the show we have managed to grow sales, won awards, taken Cuddledry to an international audience and now we are launching these great new products. As we left the den James Caan said that he could imagine walking into a shop and seeing shelves of Cuddledry products – hopefully that will soon be a reality!”
