Advent competition day seven – win a Create-a-World play set

Firstly, thanks to everyone who entered yesterday’s competition – I loved reading about all the crazes you enjoyed as kids, and it brought back a lot of happy memories! I never had a Mr Frosty as a child, and was always very jealous of my friends and their ‘bouncy balls inside rings’ things… Yesterday’s winner, with her collectable Neighbours cards, was Ruth Davies, so well done Ruth!

Today we have another prize that may bring back childhood memories.

Remember Fuzzy Felts? Well, the Create-a-World play set from Whitestep, worth £49.95, is like a giant fuzzy felt set! Your kids can enjoy hours of creative play with one of these, designing their own scenes. They’re proper good, wholesome fun, just like we used to have before this interweb thing.

Advent competition day six – win a KidzzFarm Animal Hopper from Skibz

Another day another prize…

Our lucky winner yesterday, who bagged herself the ‘What a Performance!’ games from Orchard Toys, was Julie Picton – congratulations Julie!

Today the very lovely people at Skibz, (those funky bibs that catch the dribble!),  have given us one of their KidzzFarm Animal Hoppers to give away.

Remember space hoppers? Well these are a funky modern twist on those – inflatable animals that toddlers can bounce around on! This is the purple version of ‘Betsy’, but they come in lots of different colours. Advent competition day five – What a Performance from Orchard Toys

Monday morning has come round again, and with it another day of our advent competition! Yesterday’s winner, of the Mia Tui purse set, was Bonnie Williams, so well done Bonnie!

Travelling in Spain with babies and young children – what you need to know

What a wonderful place Spain is to travel to with your baby and children. With its great beaches, wonderful food and warm welcoming people, you surely have everything there that you could wish for on holiday. But what do you need to know before you and baby go there? Here are BabyAbroad’s ten useful snippets of information to help you best prepare for and enjoy your holiday.

1. Pampers are called Dodots in Spain.
Both Huggies and Pampers, sorry, Dodots, are available in most supermarkets. So there is no need to stuff your suitcase with two weeks’ supply. Wipes are plentiful, but nappy sacks are a rare commodity.

Happy Mothers Day from Cuddledry!

My daughter was so excited about giving me her home made card and selection of gifts this morning – (pieces of her own jewellery and make-up presented in a box) – that she was in my bedroom by 6.30am. So much for a lie-in! What’s ironic is that on school days I have to drag her out of bed at 8.15am, with barely time for a piece of toast in the car on the way to school. Isn’t that always the way?

About the film

Shot entirely on location in New York’s West Village, this bittersweet comedy distils the dilemmas of the maternal state (marriage, work, self, and not necessarily in that order) into the trials and tribulations of one pivotal day. Eliza Welch (Thurman) is a former fiction writer-turned-mom-blogger with her own site, “The Bjorn Identity.” Putting her deeper creative ambitions on hold to raise her two children, Eliza lives and works in two rent-stabilized apartments in a walk-up tenement building smack in the middle of an otherwise upscale Greenwich Village. Eliza’s good-natured but absent-minded husband (Edwards) seems tuned out to his wife’s conflicts, not to mention basic domestic reality, while her best friend Sheila (Minnie Driver) understands this – and Eliza — all too well.
