What an idiot I am.  I said OUT LOUD that my baby was sleeping really well.  You would think I would have learned now that I am on baby number three, that babies have supersonic hearing and a total understanding of the English language, from birth.  And that they are the world regulators when it comes to anyone – especially their parents – being smug in any way, shape or form.

Sleepless nights – the ultimate badge of parenthood. When you first become pregnant it’s what all your friends with children will warn you about, but until you’ve experience weeks or months of sleep deprivation you just can’t imagine how exhausted and vulnerable it will leave you feeling.

Well for the first nine months of No 1 son’s life, we had the same problem. He just wouldn’t  go to sleep – at least, not when we needed him to, ie at night.
